Proving that it is more about the person behind the camera, than the actual camera itself, Rick Sammon has an interesting write up about his experience with a compact camera.
I use the word “confessions” in jest because I’m known for shooting with top-of-the-line digital SLR cameras that produce knockout images in all lighting conditions, indoors and out. In addition, these digital SLRs accept more than 50 lenses and dozens of accessories that expand the camera’s capabilities. So like some pros I know, I’d have to plead the Fifth (tongue in cheek) when asked about shooting with a less-than-the-best camera.

Given I am diving into the 52 week project, I thought people might like this excellent comic strip from Aaron Johnson who does What the Duck.

What the Duck is a terrific comic strip that takes the piss out of photographers and photography.

The 1st shot in the 52 week project.
This was inspired by mate mate Jason’s Facebook profile shot. If it is good enough for him.
Taken at work on the N95. I work for Telstra, Australia’s largest Telecommunications company. I am a designer. I design infrastructure projects. It certainly isn’t my ideal job, sitting at a desk all day using Microsoft Word, but it pays the bills and I get to live in my little patch of paradise.
Each week I will try and tell a story about myself. I plan to bore your sox off!
